Players to Watch in Memorial Tournament – Golf Betting Picks
When Golf Betting fans ponder players to look at in this week's Memorial Tournament, there are several factors to consider, such as current form and history at this course which was designed by Jack Nicklaus. Tiger Woods (+600) and Phil Mickelson (+800) loom as the betting favorites, but what other players can make a dent in the proceedings, and perhaps fetch a good price in the process? Maybe we can give you a few ideas on where to place that hard-earned betting dollar. June 3-6Muirfield Village Golf Club - Dublin, O.

Here is a quartet of players who shouldn't be counted out when you are looking to handicap that betting winner:
JIM FURYK (+2000 in the betting odds) is hardly someone you would call a big "underdog," but you notice that there is a precipitous drop after the Tiger-Phil combo, and that is a reflection of public betting opinion, to be certain. The truth is, Furyk is playing about as well as anyone. Sure, he missed the cut at the Crowne Plaza Invitational last week, just like Mickelson, but he can certainly be excused, as he has already notched two wins in 2010 - the Transitions Championship and the Verizon Heritage, which he won in a playoff. In both of those tournaments he shot four rounds in the 60's. Furyk also has been very successful in Jack's tournament, notching the runner-up spot last year, winning it in 2002 and chalking up ten top-ten finishes in 14 appearances. This is the one guy you never want to count out.
TIM CLARK (+3000 in the betting odds) finally broke through for his first PGA Tour victory in the States at the Players Championship, and that was his fourth top-ten of the year. In 2006 he was tied for 18th at the Memorial, which was an improvement on his T40 from two years previous. back in 2002, when Furyk won it, he tied for 16th. Clark has deadly accuracy off the tee; he is hitting 72% of his drives into the fairway, and that is fourth best on tour. His putting average is also tops (1.700). You;re going to score a lot with numbers like that.
KENNY PERRY (+3000 in the betting odds) tied for sixth place at the season-opening SBS Championship and hasn't matched that since. He's driven the ball well (in fact, he's 2nd in Total Driving), but he just hasn't gotten those putts to fall. Signs of age? We couldn't say for sure. What we do know about the 49-year-old Perry is that he has won at Memorial, whether he's been young or old. Perry was the champion in this event way back in 1991, then did it again in 2003, and yet again at the age of 47 in 2008. Only Tiger Woods has won this tournament more times. Obviously this guy is not to be discounted.
